Masterclasses and Retrospectives: ABDERRAHMANE SISSAKO & MIKE LEIGH
This weekend, LuxFilmFest is honouring two very special guests:
Mauritanian director and producer ABDERRAHMANE SISSAKO, winner of the César for Best Film in 2014 for Timbuktu, will join journalist and critic Michel Ciment (Positif) for a masterclass about his work and diaspora cinema. Attend this exceptional meeting with the first African filmmaker to win the César Award for Best Director (16:30, Cine Utopia. - Last tickets available- book now!)
If you can't make the masterclass, be sure to go to our screening of TIMBUKTU on Saturday in with an introduction and debate by and with Abderrahmane Sissako himself. (16/03, 16:30, Cinémathèque, 16:30)
And this afternoon, a retrospective screening in anticipation of our MIKE LEIGH masterclass tomorrow: NAKED. One of the most provocative films from the celebrated British director (14:00, Cinémathèque).
