AFTER-WORK: FILMREAKTER AWARD CEREMONY - offered by Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. After the announcement of the winners of this year's Filmreakter screenwriting competition, participants will have the chance to grab a drink with the awards jury. (HQ / Casino, 18:30)

OPENSCREEN -  an amateur film night like no other! This year, among others, her royal highness trash queen of the world, CARLOTTA MOORE, will be there with the latest short in her trilogy. What more could you want? (HQ / Casino, 20:00)

MEDIAPART AND “ZERO IMPUNITY”: MAKING YOUR VOICE HEARD ABOVE THE MEDIA BUZZ - a conference dedicated to political activism with the team and expert advisers of the transmedia documentary ZERO IMPUNITY. Moderated by Edwy Plenel (Medipart) and Marion Guth (a_BAHN). In partnership with Institut français du Luxembourg.  (15/03, HQ / Casino, 12h)
 
LUXEMBOURG VIDEO CLIP NIGHT BY ROCKLAB  - watch the latest Luxembourgish music videos at Ciné Utopia then head to Casino HQ  for drinks and dancing at  ROCKLAB AFTERWORK WITH DJ RALITT (15/03, Cine Utopia, 18:30 & HQ / Casino, 20:30)

 

FEMALE FILMMAKERS AT LUXFILMFEST

Come see two films by up-and-coming female directors alongside members of the cast and crew :

HOME GAMES (Documentary Competition)
A promising female footballer about to make the jump to the national women's team faces her biggest struggles off the field in this Ukrainian documentary film. The film's directorALISA KOVALENKO will be in attendance and answer questions about the film's production. (Cinémathèque, 16:30)

FIRECRACKERS (Official Competition) by Jasmin Mozaffari .
An audacious feminist coming-of-age drama about two girls and her big dreams of getting out of their desolate, backwoods town. Lead actress MICHAELA KURIMSKY will be in attendance and delve into the making of this film produced by an entirely female crew. (Cinémathèque, 19:00) 

 

OUR LATEST LUXEMBOURGISH PREMIERES

We have lined up two Luxembourgish premieres for you this evening at Ciné Utopia - come along for both and learn about the vitality of the Luxemourgish film scene, in the presence of the film teams.

ANGELO by Markus Schleinzer.
The true story of Angelo Soliman, a Nigerian child, abducted from Africa and raised like a museum piece in the Viennese court, until his fall from grace changes everything. (Ciné Utopia, 18:30)

ZERO IMPUNITY by Nicolas Blies, Stéphane Hueber-Blies and Denis Lambert.
An animated documentary on a mission to end the use of weaponised rape in war. Part of a larger transmedia project. (Ciné Utopia, 21:00)
