This March, Darius Khondji will join the ranks of the legends of contemporary cinema LuxFilmFest has paid tribute to over the last years. An extraordinary evening with one of film’s greatest cinematographers.
Darius Khondji has produced some of the most iconic photographs of the last century. An outstanding filmography, his works include Seven (1995) by David Fincher, The Lost City of Z (2016) by James Gray, Amour (2012) by Michael Haneke, Midnight in Paris (2011) de Woody Allen, Roman Polanski's Ninth Door (1999), Bernardo Bertolucci's The Stolen Beauty (1996), Sydney Pollack's The Interpreter (2005), and Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro's Delicatessen (1991).
Born to an Iranian father and a French mother, Darius Khondji will share how he went from Paris to Hollywood, quickly establishing himself as touchpoint for contemporary cinematographers. Guiding him through his exceptional career will be journalist Jordan Mintzer, author of the book Conversations with Darius Khondji. Published by Éditions Synecdoche, the book not only deals with the technical aspects of his work (lighting, frame, optics, digital shift) but also includes interviews with great directors on their artistic collaborations with Darius Khondji.
