German filmmakers, Ralf Kukula and Matthias Bruhn, will introduce their film Fritzi – A Revolutionary Tale, which is being released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in autumn 2019. In this masterclass, participants will learn about what goes into developing and producing an animated film, and the directors will explain their vision and process.

Co-produced by Luxembourgish animation studio Doghouse Films, Fritzi takes place in East Germany in autumn 1989. Fritzi lovingly takes care of her best friend Sophie's little dog Sputnik, while Sophie's family is on summer holiday in Hungary. When Sophie doesn't come back from vacation, Fritzi and Sputnik set out in search of her.
