The Luxembourg City Film Festival is proud to introduce the experts who make up its selection committees for the 2027 edition. Divided into three categories (Fiction, Documentary, and Preselection), these passionate professionals scour the cinematic landscape to uncover the works that will light up our screens next March.<\/p>\n
Fiction Committee<\/p>\n
Alexis Juncosa<\/strong> (Artistic Director of LuxFilmFest), Chiara Lentz<\/strong> (Artistic Programming Coordinator at LuxFilmFest) and Gloria Morano<\/strong> (Head of Children\u2019s Programming at LuxFilmFest) are joined by:<\/p>\n Michael Blyth :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n <\/b>Michael Blyth is a London-based film programmer and writer. He was formerly Senior Film Programmer for the BFI London Film Festival and BFI Flare (London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival), curated retrospectives at BFI Southbank, and contributed to various international festivals. He is the author of In the Mouth of Madness (a monograph on John Carpenter\u2019s 1995 film). He regularly appears as a guest on the Evolution of Horror podcast.<\/p>\n Lucie Detrain :\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Lucie Detrain worked at Memento Films Distribution, as well as within the audiovisual departments of the French Embassy in London and New York (Villa Albertine). She then spent several years as Head of Communications at ACID. Today, Lucie works across festivals, primarily as a programmer: she sits on the selection committees of the Directors’ Fortnight (Cannes), the Luxembourg City Film Festival, and FIPADOC (Young Creation section). She also coordinates the Directors’ Fortnight’s cinema re-releases. Lucie lives and works between Berlin and Paris.<\/p>\n Charline Froment : <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Drawing on her studies in philosophy and film curation, Charline Froment has worked across programming, licensing, and communication within the film exhibition landscape. Her curatorial interests include works that challenge collective memory and explore archival dissemination, shaped by academic research and hands-on experience within the festival circuit and the Chantal Akerman Foundation.<\/p>\n Laura Pertuy :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n A film journalist (Trois Couleurs, Arte Magazine, CitizenK, Sofilm\u2026) for around fifteen years, with a particular interest in emerging talent, Laura Pertuy also sits on several festival selection committees in France and abroad (Semaine de la Critique, Poitiers Film Festival, Luxembourg City Film Festival\u2026) and programmes for the Regards Satellites festival in Saint-Denis (93). She worked to promote French and French-language cinema within the diplomatic network across various countries around the world, and has retained a strong attachment to their film cultures (Sweden, China, the UK\u2026). A graduate in literary translation, Laura Pertuy writes subtitles and adaptations for a range of films \u2013 both shorts and features \u2013 and screenplays, as well as translations for the press, academia and publishing. A former board member of Collectif 50\/50, she has worked to champion films made by women and launched a project reflecting on the challenges of programming in the post-#MeToo era. She sits on numerous festival juries and has a particular fondness for moments of exchange and knowledge-sharing around cinema.<\/p>\n Documentary Committee<\/p>\n Alexis Juncosa<\/strong> (Artistic Director of LuxFilmFest), Chiara Lentz<\/strong> (Artistic Programming Coordinator at LuxFilmFest) and Gloria Morano<\/strong> (Head of Children\u2019s Programming at LuxFilmFest) are joined by:<\/p>\n Fabienne Moris :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Working in the field of cinema and the visual arts for 25 years, Fabienne Moris was involved from 2002 to 2024 in production (as a production director), distribution (as programming coordinator for FIDMarseille), and international development (as founder and director of FIDLab, an international co-production platform). Charel Muller :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Charel studied History and Film Studies at the University of Sussex. He began his career with internships at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and FESTIVAL SCOPE, where he gained his first experience in the film industry. Loes van Keulen :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Loes van Keulen is a film programmer from the Netherlands based in Berlin. She selects short and mid-length films for the International Film Festival Rotterdam and Leiden Shorts, and is part of the short film pre-selection committee at Festival du Nouveau Cin\u00e9ma. She holds a Research Master\u2019s in Media Studies with a focus on Film Studies from the University of Amsterdam and has served on juries for Drama International Short Film Festival, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival, European Short Pitch, and Sprouts Film Festival.<\/p>\n Pr\u00e9s\u00e9lection<\/p>\n Guillaume Maurel :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Passionate about cinema, Guillaume began his career at the European Short Film Festival in Brest and later collaborated with events such as the Cannes Film Festival, Critics’ Week, and the Luxembourg City Film Festival. He focuses primarily on programming both short and feature-length films.<\/p>\n Raha Raz :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Raha Raz is a Tehran-born, Luxembourg-based filmmaker and visual artist. A prot\u00e9g\u00e9 of Abbas Kiarostami and Asghar Farhadi, she creates films that blend atmospheric realism with metaphor, exploring human emotions, inner fears, and the fragile path toward selfhood. She began her artistic journey through experimental cinema and video art in 2009 under Kiarostami\u2019s mentorship. Her work includes the internationally screened animation As Simple As This (2022) and her live-action debut Stairs (2024), selected for the Gij\u00f3n International Film Festival. In 2025, she co-produced Ali Asgari\u2019s Divine Comedy, which premiered in the Orizzonti Competition at Venice. Her latest short film, Arms (2026), produced by Les Films Fauves with the support of the Luxembourg Film Fund, has recently been completed.<\/p>\n Nektarios Sakkas :<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Hailing from Athens, Greece, he pursued a degree in computer science before transitioning to psychology, where he earned a bachelor\u2019s degree. During university years, he gained valuable experience as an intern film journalist for an online media outlet. Subsequently, he dedicated a decade (2013-2022) to working as a programmer for the Athens International Film Festival and as a film critic for Cinema Magazine, which transitioned exclusively to an online platform in 2017. In 2023, he joined the International Programming team of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Additionally, since 2022, he has been collaborating with the Luxembourg City Film Festival as a preselector and with the Greek Film Archive as a film traffic coordinator. \nShe is now Director of the Centre des Ecritures Cin\u00e9matographiques at Moulin d’And\u00e9, where she welcomes and supports French and international filmmakers through a range of residency programmes.
\nShe also works as an independent consultant, reading for international co-production funds, and has been a member of the programming teams for the Geneva International Film Festival and the Luxembourg Film Festival since 2025.<\/p>\n\n
\nFrom 2018 to 2025, he worked as a Team Lead for the German market at Gracenote, leading a team and managing multimedia content, further expanding his expertise in the audiovisual sector.
\nSince 2018, he has also served as a consultant for PLUK de NACHT, contributing his expertise in film curation and event coordination. In 2023, he joined the festival\u2019s selection committee for both feature and short films.
\nSince 2020, Charel has been working as a programme advisor for the Luxembourg City Film Festival, where he is involved in film selection and programming for the event.<\/p>\n\n
