AWARD-WINNING FILMS 2020
Even though it had to be ended prematurely and was deprived of its GRAND PRIX – BY ORANGE, this tenth edition is still honouring the Festival’s Best Documentary.
Due to the premature stop of the Festival on Thursday, 12th March following the increase in Covid-19 cases, the International Jury could only consider half of the films in the Official Competition. Despite the Festival’s efforts, the current situation did not allow the Jury to watch the remaining works in the proper viewing conditions they deserve. Therefore, the Festival team has to regretfully announce that the GRAND PRIX – BY ORANGE, worth 10,000€, won’t be awarded for this 10th edition. The same issues also apply to the Press Jury who will not be able to present the CRITICS AWARD either, as well as the AUDIENCE AWARD - BY ORANGE which will also not be awarded this year.
The members of the other juries, did manage to view all off the films of their respective selections. So without further ado, we can reveal the winners of this year's remaining prizes:
Documentary Award - by BGL BNP Paribas (worth 5,000€)
COLLECTIVE (COLECTIV) by Alexander Nanau
VR Award - Best Immersive Experience
BATTLESCAR by Nico Casavecchia and Martin Allais (an ATLAS V production)
A special mention for COSMOS WITHIN US by Tupac Martir (an a_BAHN co-production)
Youth Jury Award - by Kinepolis (worth 2,000€)
BABYTEETH by Shannon Murphy

ROMY'S SALON (KAPSALON ROMY) by Mischa Kamp

ROMY'S SALON (KAPSALON ROMY) by Mischa Kamp
Due to the current situation and the restrictions announced by the government, LuxFilmFest decided to close its offices from Tuesday, 17th March on, with our team working from home. While our offices remain closed for the time being, we stay operational and continue to be reachable by e-mail. We thank you for your understanding and are hoping to quickly overcome these unusual times. Until then, we are already looking forward to welcoming you to the 11th Luxembourg City Film Festival in 2021, the dates of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
