LOST WEEKEND - CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
Filmreakter and Open Screen bring you LOST WEEKEND as part of the 10th edition of Luxembourg City Film Festival! A short film challenge addressed to all filmmakers – from beginners with no prior experience to seasoned pros – to complete a film in only 48h! From Friday evening to Sunday evening, from writing to shooting to delivery, all in one fast and furious experience!
When and where?
The short films will be shot on the first weekend of the Luxembourg City Film Festival, 6th-8th March. Followed by a screening of the final films on Thursday, 12th March from 6.30pm on at the Festival Headquarters at Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain.
How to take part?
Put together your team – either from your own network of friends or with the help of the dedicated Lost Weekend online forum – and register online until 1st March on lostweekend.lu. Participation is free.
Friday, 6th March, 7pm participants will meet in the Cercle Cité in Luxembourg where at 8pm sharp a theme, a line of dialogue and a prop which all must feature in your film will be announced.
Then each team will ceremoniously draw a piece of paper out of a hat indicating the genre of your future masterpiece. Then off you go to write, shoot, edit!
You have to finish your film on Sunday evening no matter what, then rush back to the Cercle Cité to deliver it in person no later than 8pm!
Public Screening & Awards Ceremony
After a couple of days of rest, on 12th March at 6.30pm, participants will meet again for a public screening at the LuxFilmFest Festival Headquarters at Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain where their films will compete for a Jury Award – consisting of a musical composition and sound post-production package at the Unison Studios in Differdange – as well as an Audience Award.
