LOST WEEKEND - Call for participants
For the 12th Edition of Luxembourg City Film Festival, the FILMREAKTER filmmakers' association, in partnership with the LuxFilmFest and with the support of the Œuvre National de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, is bringing back LOST WEEKEND! A short film challenge open to all filmmakers – from beginners with no prior experience to seasoned pros – to complete a film in only 48 hours! From the evening of Friday, March 4th to the evening of Sunday, March 6th, participants will have 48 hours to write, shoot and deliver a short film, all in one fast and furious experience!
How, when and where?
Sign up your team on the Lost Weekend website (www.lostweekend.lu) when registration opens on January 29th, 6 AM. Everyone is welcome and participation is free, but be quick as capacities are limited!
Once you’ve reserved your spot you have until March to assemble your team, from among your own network of friends or with the help of our online forum. In the months leading up to the event we offer get-togethers where you’ll have the chance to meet others to grow your team, receive tips, tricks and valuable advice.
On Friday March 4th, 7 pm, the participants will meet at the Circle Cité in Luxembourg City, where at 8 pm sharp we will announce this year's THEME, LINE OF DIALOGUE and PROP, which all must feature in your film. Then each team will draw a GENRE out of a hat - and off you go to write, shoot, edit!
You deliver your finished 5 minute-film no later than exactly 48 hours later, Sunday March 6th 8pm at Café Interview, where cheers and drinks await!
Public Screening & Awards Ceremony
After three days of well-deserved rest, all teams meet again on Wednesday, March 9th, at 9 pm, for a public screening at Ciné Utopia, where all qualified films will be up for one of several awards. Among them the coveted LOST WEEKEND COFFEE POT, awarded by our distinguished five-headed Jury.
