LuxFilmLab #7 - The Man Who Sold His Skin

On Wednesday, 5th May at 7.30 PM, LuxFilmLab will be back at Ciné Utopia with The Man Who Sold His Skin by Kaouther Ben Hania.
The film, nominated for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film - a first in Tunisia's film history -, had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2020. It follows Sam Ali, a Syrian refugee, who enters a Faustian pact with a controversial tattoo artist to get to Europe as a living work of art. Kaouther Ben Hania assembled a thought-provoking modern-day fable and biting art-world satire that tackles the so-called refugee "crisis", capitalism, political repression, and First World hypocrisy, following in the footsteps of Ruben Östlund's The Square.

Tickets for this LuxFilmLab screening are available as of now in the Kinepolis webshop at the regular rates of Ciné Utopia*.

About LuxFilmLab:
The first Wednesday of every month, LuxFilmLab - a joint initiative by Luxembourg City Film Festival and Kinepolis - highlights one feature film, chosen in cooperation by LuxFilmFest's Artistic Committee and the Kinepolis programme team. A member of the Artistic Committee introduces the special LuxFilmLab screenings, with the aim of supporting films whose release dates didn't allow for them to be selected for the Festival itself but whose artistic qualities would very likely have led to their inclusion in the LuxFilmFest line-up.

*LuxFilmFest isn't involved in the commercial aspects of these screenings. Access to the screenings and ticket prices are set by Kinepolis.
