LuxFilmLab #8 - Minari

On Wednesday, 2nd June, LuxFilmLab will feature yet another exclusive premiere at Ciné Utopia.
We are extremely happy to bring you five screenings (at 7 PM, 7.10 PM, 7.20 PM, 7.30 PM & 7.40 PM) of Lee Isaac Chung's Minari, fresh off Yuh-Jung Youn's Best Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar win for her performance as quirky grandmother Soonja. After its world premiere at Sundance where it won the Grand Jury Prize as well as the Audience Award, the film toured the international festival circuit, quickly becoming one of this year's awards season favourites.
Inspired by his own upbringing, Lee Isaac Chung crafted a gorgeous, delicate story about identity and uprootedness, following a Korean-American family who start a farm in 1980s Arkansas in pursuit of their very own American Dream. Time Magazine called it a reflection on "isolation and loneliness, on masculine pride and duty, on just the pure weirdness of being a kid, let alone the child of immigrants" with an all-around terrific ensemble.

Tickets for the five LuxFilmLab screenings are available as of now in the Kinepolis webshop at the regular rates of Ciné Utopia*.

About LuxFilmLab:
The first Wednesday of every month, LuxFilmLab - a joint initiative by Luxembourg City Film Festival and Kinepolis - highlights one feature film, chosen in cooperation by LuxFilmFest's Artistic Committee and the Kinepolis programme team. A member of the Artistic Committee introduces the special LuxFilmLab screenings, with the aim of supporting films whose release dates didn't allow for them to be selected for the Festival itself but whose artistic qualities would very likely have led to their inclusion in the LuxFilmFest line-up.

*LuxFilmFest isn't involved in the commercial aspects of these screenings. Access to the screenings and ticket prices are set by Kinepolis.
