WHAT'S ON TODAY: 09/03
Start your weekend off right with our masterclass strand and guest screenings.
World renowned and celebrated cinematographer Darius Khondji will be in conversation this evening with Jordan Mintzer, film critic for The Hollywood Reporter from 6.30pm at the Cinémathèque. For an extra dose of Khondji, don’t miss our screening of David Fincher's masterpiece of suspense, SEVEN, on Monday (Cinémathèque, 2pm).
Stay put at the Cinémathèque for the IN FABRIC at 9pm. Director Peter Strickland will be there to field questions about his fetishistic homage to vintage Euro-horror and giallo films.
At Ciné Utopia director Steve Krikris will discuss THE WAITER (Official Competition), his quirky neo-noir mystery at 6.30pm. A little while later, Ghiath Ayoub, one of the co-directors of STILL RECORDING (Documentary Competition), will answer questions regarding his documentary about art, activism and the Syrian civil war at 9pm at Ciné Utopia. Or, if you prefer Russian folklore with a modern LGBTQ-twist, THE MAN WHO SURPRISED EVERYONE (Official Competition), comes highly recommended, presented by the films directors Natasha Merkulova and Aleksey Chupov, as well as producer Katia Filippova. (Ciné Utopia, 9pm).
The night doesn’t end there though! Head to Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain for our HQ Party. DJ Blue Print and Collectif L'Orangeade will have you dancing into Sunday morning. Starting at 9.30pm.
