School Jury Award 2019

School Jury Award 2019

by Lars Kraume

For the first time in its history, the Festival invited a school class of 12-15 year olds (5CLC1 class of the Lycée Robert Schuman – teacher: Luc Wildanger) to watch and analyse a selection of 5 films from the 2019 Young Audiences programme. The SCHOOLJURY AWARD was presented to Lars Kraume’s THE SILENT REVOLUTION (DAS SCHWEIGENDE KLASSENZIMMER) during the Festival's Awards Night on 16th March 2019 at Kinepolis Kirchberg.

Anna Schroeder, a student of the Lycée Robet Schuman’s 5CLC1 class, presented the award and explained the School Jury’s choice as follows:

“We have unanimously chosen a winner of the School Jury Award from the diverse selection of films. From beginning to end, we were captivated by the suspenseful story that didn’t lack in action. The direction and the actors’ performances won us over and really helped us to identify ourselves with the characters. We really liked the fact we felt empathy throughout the film. We also enjoyed the other films of the selection, but in our eyes, only THE SILENT REVOLUTION (DAS SCHWEIGENDE KLASSENZIMMER) managed to completely convince us.
The winner of the 2019 School Jury Award is thus THE SILENT REVOLUTION by Lars Kraume.”
