Youth Jury Award 2017

THE YOUTH JURY AWARD: 2,000€

SÁMI BLOOD (SAMEBLOD)
by Amanda Kernell

The YOUTH JURY AWARD was awarded to SÁMI BLOOD by Amanda Kernell, subsidised with 2,000€.

Explaining their reasoning, ALEXANDRA BERING, OSCAR DAVID, HANNAH GREVIS, JULIEN HANIN, BENJAMIN PEDERSEN, CHRISTOPHE SCHAMMEL and MÉLANIE SCHONS said: "We have viewed a selection of films addressing in particular politics, the dangers of the Internet, discrimination, upheaval, love and freedom of expression. Following long and lively discussions arising from our different perspectives, we finally agreed on one winning film. Through the poignant journey of a young girl, this film tells of a dark chapter in history. It features an authentic and moving script that encourages serious reflection and a cast of exceptional actors. We award the 2017 Youth Jury Award to SÁMI BLOOD."
