5TH EUROPEAN ARTHOUSE CINEMA DAY
On November 8th, 2020 the fifth European Arthouse Cinema Day will take place in cinemas all over the world. In 2019 more than 620 cinemas in 37 countries joined in the celebrations organised by the International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) and Europa Cinemas. Through rich and exclusive programmes, film premieres, Young Audiences features and classics from Europe's, as well as high profile guests, discussions and exhibitions, the event is as eclectic as European cinema itself!
In 2020, Luxembourg City Film Festival and the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg will participate in this initiative for the very first time. Thus, we are inviting you to discover Stefano Cipani's MY BROTHER CHASES DINOSAURS, the winning film of this year's European Film Academy Young Audience Award. In April 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 lockdown, young jurors aged 12-14 from across Europe chose this Italian film among three nominated films over the course of the first ever online edition of the Young Audience Award. On 8th November at 3 PM at the Cinémathèque, the film will be screened in front of an audience in a Luxembourgish cinema for the first time!
