Workshop on film criticism and grammar presented by The Hollywood Reporter film critic Boyd van Hoeij.

This workshop is divided into three parts and tailored to the needs of the audience. In the first session, the participants will explore film grammar: how do films construct meaning through images, sounds and editing? In part two, they will discuss film criticism and examine, among other things, how to talk about films and film grammar, whereas the third session will offer practical advice and feedback for aspiring film writers.

Boyd van Hoeij’s optional Film Analysis Workshop on Thursday, 12th March 2020 from 6.30pm to 10pm complements the Film Criticism Workshop. In it, interested participants of the Film Criticism module can put the newly learnt theory into practice.
