Masterclass Animation Cinema, A Vital Vehicle for Cultural and Social Education
By: Studio 352
With: Stéphan Roelants
Duration: 120 minutes
Through its content and graphic development, animation cinema attracts all kinds of audiences, but is often specifically aimed at children. In a world where young viewers are flooded with moving images, producers are left with a responsibility to help shape them into educated and well-informed humans that are aware of the differences and the values at the basis of a so-called civilised society.
Topics broached by this masterclass will include the following: The importance of choosing the right and relevant content for animation in today’s world, the ways in which films can help educators (teachers as well as parents) reach children and help to convey subjects, and the need for a different view on animation.
For teachers, the masterclass is part of the IFEN ongoing education programme.
