Masterclass Atom Egoyan

Masterclass with Canadian director and President of the International Jury Atom Egoyan.

Lead by: Jonathan Romney, critic for Film Comment, author of Atom Egoyan and Short Orders

With sixteen feature films and related projects, Atom Egoyan – an Egyptian-born Armenian Canadian – has won numerous awards including five prizes at the Cannes Film Festival, two Academy Award nominations and twenty-five Canadian Genie Awards. His films have been presented at several retrospectives across the globe and he has directed theatre and opera including his adaptation of Samuel Beckett’s Eh Joe, winner of The Irish Times/ESB Award for Best Direction. Egoyan’s art installations have been presented at the Venice Biennale and prestigious international institutions.  His work, Steenbeckett, commissioned by the UK’s Artangel, is part of the permanent collection of the Tate.


After the Festival, the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg has an Atom Egoyan retrospective in its programme for those who can't get enough of the Canadian director!
