Masterclass: “White Fang” – Scoring a film

By : Bruno Coulais, Stéphane Lerouge
Language : French (a member of the Young Audiences programme organising team will be present for potential translations into Luxembourgish if needed)
Duration : 120’
Venue : Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg

Bruno Coulais, award-winning composer of film scores, such as “The Song of the Sea” (2014) and “Coraline” (2009) among others, is heading to Luxembourg for a masterclass at the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg, moderated by Stéphane Lerouge, during the Luxembourg City Film Festival. With the help of scenes from “White Fang” by the Luxembourgish director Alexandre Espigares, and other films he was involved in, the composer is going to lift the veil on the secrets of film scoring to young audiences: its role in a film, symbolic uses, and memorable pieces that inspired his work.

“White Fang” is an adaptation of Jack London’s classic adventure novel and will premiere in Luxembourg on the 9th and 10th March at the Philharmonie Luxembourg in the form of a live film concert.

In partnership with the Institut français du Luxembourg.
