Born in 1982 in Pforzheim, Germany, Julia Ocker is an animation director, designer and writer based in Stuttgart. From 2003 to 2005 she studied Graphic Design in Pforzheim and from 2006 to 2012 animation at Baden-Württemberg’s Film Academy. During her studies she experimented with a completely different style and a different animation technique for each film. Her films cover a wide range of subjects, from her dark and frightening drama Kellerkind (2012) to the ingeniously funny Zebra (2013). Just as her short Ant (2017) which screened at LuxFilmFest 2019, Anglerfish (2018) is part of the series Animanimals that she developed for Studio Film Bilder.
