Dominique Santana is a PhD candidate at the University of Luxembourg's Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH). She holds a bachelor's degree from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and a master's degree from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, both in History. Since October 2017, she has been conducting a doctoral project entitled "Intertwined destinies, strengthened ties: Migration paths from Luxembourg to Brazil (1920-1965)" – supervised by Prof. Dr. Andreas Fickers (C2DH) and Ass.-Prof. Dr. Denis Scuto (C2DH) in co-tutelle agreement with the University of São Paulo. Her research project is supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (AFR-FNR PhD Grant). Based on her historical research, Dominique Santana is working on a transmedia project with the title “A Colônia Luxemburguesa”. The interactive documentary and its participatory multimedia installations unearth the fascinating one-hundred-year-old story of steel-framed trajectories from Luxembourg to Brazil from different angles and across different platforms.
