In a provincial housing estate in France, three neighbours can’t seem to get to grips with new technologies and social media. Mary has fallen victim to blackmail due to a sex tape of her that has been leaked online, Bertrand’s daughter is being bullied at school and Christine, a cab driver, is seriously depressed that her clients’ bad ratings refuse to improve. Together, they decide to strike back at the Internet giants. Basically, a lost cause…or is it?

Benoît Delépine is a French filmmaker. After having studied journalism and having tried his hand in an advertising agency, he ended up working for Canal+ during the 1980s. For six years he was one of the authors of the satirical French TV show Les Guignols before becoming one of the political news satire Groland’s emblematic figures. In 1999, he met Gustave Kervern with whom he went on to collaborate on numerous short sketches on the TV show Grolandsat. Together, they direct their first critically acclaimed film Aaltra (2004). They have since directed another 7 films together, including their latest comedy Effacer l’historique (2020), as well as Avida (2006) which screened out of competition in Cannes. The two are know for their deadpan humour.
Born in 1962, Gustave Kervern is a French filmmaker. He first worked for several TV shows before a short stay at a radio station. In 1999 he met Benoît Delépine with whom he collaborated for Canal+’s TV show Grolandsat. Together they direct eight films including Avida (2006) which is screened out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. Effacer l’historique (2020) is the duo’s latest film.
