In 1950s Algeria, a pro-independence worker is arrested for having planted a bomb in his factory.
Algiers, 1956. In the midst of the Algerian War, Fernand Iveton, an idealist, pro-independence worker is arrested, accused of having planted a bomb in a disused room of his factory. Even though no one was killed nor injured, the militant communist faces the death penalty. His wife Hélène is now married to a "traitor", but she refuses to abandon Fernand to his fate and starts fighting for her husband’s life. The War of Independence will irrevocably change the course of their destiny.

Hélier Cisterne, born in 1981, grew up in the southwest of France, in the department Lot. After studying cinema in Brive-la-Gaillarde, he enrolled in a philosophy class in Paris and directed his first short film Dehors (2003). After several other shorts, he moved on to long-form narratives with his first feature film Vandal (2013), which received the Louis-Delluc Award of the Best First Film in 2013. The following year he directed nine episodes of the French TV series Le Bureau des Légendes under the direction of Eric Rochant. Faithful (2020), which he co-wrote with Katell Quillévéré, is his second feature.
