On the eve of a big day, a “normal” family discovers that being normal actually doesn’t exist.

On a wild peninsula in France, where the land meets the ocean, an eccentric family is getting ready for the big day. Tommy, 11 years old, is excited for the first school day of the term that her freshly out-of-jail father promised she wouldn’t miss. But that promise turns out more difficult to keep than expected when her dad steals a sports car to track down her mother who just disappeared, and when an imaginary an astronaut and a pet monkey pop by. Thus begins a ludicrous race against the clock during which major choices will have to be made, proving once and for all that “normal” doesn’t appear in this family’s dictionary.
