For the first time, Amin shares his experience as a child refugee from Afghanistan, mainly through animation.

Amin, an academic, is getting married to his fiancé. But first, he wishes to reveal the secret he has kept for more than two decades. Amin fled Afghanistan when he was only a child and spent several years with his mother and his brother in post-communist Russia, before arriving in Denmark alone and as a teenager. Although terrified to tell his real story as he still lives under a fake cover, he wants to start a new chapter of his life, without lies. He will thus tell the true story of his journey and his fight for freedom.

“When we talk about refugees today, it soon becomes a discussion about who is for and against refugees. (…)  But I hope Flee will remind people how important it is that we continue to turn to each other.” Director’s statement Jonas Poher Rasmussen
