Denmark, 2017 / 86 min / Original Danish version dubbed in German with English subt. (DE with EN subt.) / Comedy-Drama

A coming-of-age tale about a boy who saves the day – against all odds.

Since his father’s death, ten-year-old William’s life has gotten very complicated. Due to her mental illness, his mother is unable to care of him, meaning he has to live with his uncle Nils. The two of them become a great team, even though William isn’t quite sure what it actually is that his uncle does for a living. As it turns out, Nils is a pathological gambler who owes a lot of money to a local gang of thugs. William musters all his courage to confront their leader (and his large Rottweiler) to ask for more time to pay back the debt and save himself and his uncle. All the while, he has to juggle three class bullies and his first crush, Viola. William soon realises that his acquaintance with the kingpin of local crime might come in handy after all.
