LATTE AND THE MAGIC WATERSTONE (LATTE IGEL UND DER MAGISCHE WASSERSTEIN)

Latte the hedgehog and Tjum the squirrel show great courage on their big adventure despite their small size.
One day the animals of the forest wake up to discover that their magic waterstone has gone missing and that they are facing a drought. Latte, an energetic and confident hedgehog, bravely announces that she will recover the stone from the claws of the despicable Bear King who stole it. Tjum, a squirrel, is assigned to join her and learns that Latte’s mouth is a tad bigger than her actual courage. To face the most challenging adventure of their life, the unlikely heroes will have to overcome their differences and learn to work together as a team.

Regina Welker was born in 1984 in southern Germany. While studying at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy’s Institute of Animation, she gained work experience at radio and television stations, and made her first steps in the world of film. Her first animated short film Farbzwerge (2009) was chosen as the official trailer of the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film in 2009. Her graduation short, Krake, came out in 2012. Latte and the Magic Waterstone (2019) is her first feature film.
Nina Wels grew up in Berlin and studied animation at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. She has worked as an animator on numerous video games, TV series and films, including Michael Herbig’s Lissi and the Wild Emperor (2007). Since 2010, she directed multiple feature films and series for television such as Coconut, the Little Dragon (2014), Knight Rusty (2013) and Jonalu (2009). Latte and the Magic Waterstone (2019) is her third feature film.
