ROCCA CHANGES THE WORLD (ROCCA VERÄNDERT DIE WELT)

Katja Benrath

Germany, 2019 / 97 min / German OV / Adventure, Comedy, Drama

Eleven-year-old Rocca lives a rather unique life. Indeed, raised in a German astronaut training facility can lead to some interesting personality traits. Since her father is on a mission to space, Rocca lives alone with her squirrel and has to attend a traditional school for the first time in her life. At school, her care-free, nonconformist and uber-confident ways instantly stand out. On her first day, she confronts the class bullies, because first and foremost Rocca stands up for justice. That’s also why she becomes friends with Caspar, a homeless man whom she tries to help. Only her grandmother isn’t entirely comfortable with her care-free attitude. With never-ending optimism, Rocca, together with her new friends, must fight to keep her independence and prove that a child also has the power to change the world.
