Two friends, a caterpillar and a tadpole, grow up in two very different environments.

A caterpillar is hunted by a heron looking for tasty breakfast. While trying to escape, she falls into a pond and is saved from drowning by a tadpole. Even though they live in very different environments, the two new friends grow up together. Until the day of the big transformation.

Biography

Natalia Chernysheva was born in 1984 in Sverdlovsk, today Yekaterinburg, Russia. She graduated in graphic arts and animation from the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Arts. As an animator and character artist, she worked on several animated films by Russian directors before starting her studies at the La Poudrière school in France. There she directed her first short Snowflake (2012) which went on to win the Audience Award at the New York International Children’s Film Festival in 2014. After Snowflake and The Gossamer (2016), her graduation film Two Friends (2014) is her third film selected in LuxFilmFest’s Young Audiences programme.
