ZIBILLA
Switzerland, France, Belgium, 2019 / 26 min / French version / animation
An underconfident young zebra discovers that she is stronger than she previously believed.
Zibilla, a young zebra adopted by a couple of horses, is the laughing stock of her new schoolmates and eventually ends up hating her stripes. When her stuffed toy is stolen, she works up all her courage takes off to look for it. Her adventures truly begin when she teams up with a horse unwillingly dressed up as a lion. Slowly, Zibilla regains self-confidence that leads her to accept her true nature.
“Even though my film should first and foremost entertain, I also hope that young viewers will be able to draw their own conclusions from some of the elements present and, even if unconsciously, learn to accept differences in others or to better deal with their own differences.” Director’s statement by Isabelle Favez
