CÉSAR VAYSSIÉ
Since 1992, César Vayssié has produced films and performances at the interface of visual art and dance. His experimental features and short films evade classification into any genre or media. After graduating in visual arts, he joined the Villa Médicis at the Académie de France in Rome as a filmmaker and shot the experimental film Elvis de Médicis (2000). Vayssié has worked with artists, writers and performers throughout his career. In 2015, he developed the project The Sweetest Choice with François Chaignaud – a film/installation recording in Death Valley. Vayssié’s films have been shown at the Tate Modern in London, the Folkwang Museum in Essen, the MoMA in New York and at Centre Pompidou in Paris.
