DJ Ralitt

A winning smile, a mane you want to run your fingers through, a Belgian accent to break your heart. No doubt you have already danced to one of his sets, if you like to slum it on the dance floors of the capital. Ralit, 26 – with an agenda to make the Grand Duke pale. What’s on the decks? At 12, he stole a Miss Kittin tape cassette. Then electro was thrown into the mix. He hasn’t stopped since, even if he has discovered new genres. “I'm going through a punk period, completely unlikely for those who know me! I'm also listening to more and more hip-hop. I don’t care if it is popular - either I like or I don't like it. Then, here you go!” He wasn’t a fan of school, but ended being a teacher. A big one. A little lazy though, he confesses. He found a job in a youth centre assisting kids with their musical projects “A great way to meet people”. Someone he met suggested playing a gig at Aralunaires in Arlon. Inspired, he began to organise a regional festival: Wave. Then he joined the collective Eklektik Guys and co-organsied Les Nuits Éclectiques. In September, he closed Ward'in Rock with an insane set. “I love it, but I still like to meet artists. They tell you what they do, about their lives. That's really cool.” What’s next? DJ sets in Luxembourg, and of course, an EP.
