Ekoué Labitey, born in 1975 in Villiers-le-Bel, Val-d'Oise, is French author, director and rapper, best known as a member of the group La Rumeur. He began rapping at 15, supporting “Timide et sans complexe », contributing to the album “L'Homicide volontaire d'Assassin”.  He formed  the Ultimate Coalition group with his friends Philippe (Le Bavar) and Mourad (Le Paria). He met Hamé in July 1994 at an open mic event. Together, they renamed the group La Rumeur. As a producer, Ekoué Labitey is known for The Last Parisians (2016) and The Truk (L'EnKas) (2018). He directed the miniseries De l'encre (2010) and the feature film My Name in Pigalle (2017).
