Director, Sunflowers of Nicaragua

Florence Jaugey is an actress, director, scriptwriter and documentary producer of French descent living in Nicaragua. She is the co-founder of Camila Films, a film production company based in Nicaragua. Her first feature film, La Yuma (2009), won 16 international awards and was selected to represent Nicaragua at the 2011 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Her short film Cinema Alcázar (1998) won the Silver Bear at the 48th International Festival of Berlin.
