Joachim Dollhopf

Born 1971 in Munich, Joachim Dollhopf first studied history, German and sociology, before heading into secondary studies of directing at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf after directing a few short films and meeting Evi Goldbrunner, whom he has formed a director-screenwriter-duo with ever since. During these studies, he produces further shorts and rises to international renown with “I Don’t Feel Like Dancing” (2008), winning 13 awards at various festivals. It is together with Evi Goldbrunner again that he directs “Wags” (2009) debuting at the Berlinale and receiving the First Steps Award for the best German graduation film. Since 2012 he’s running DramaQueen GmbH and distributes the authoring software of the same name.
