Maggie Peren
Born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1974, Maggie Peren studied psychology and German and English literature in Munich. A successful screenwriter since 1999, she has won prizes including the German Film Award for Best Screenplay. In 2004, she directed her first short film, Hypochonder, and made her feature film directing debut three years later with the comedy Stellungswechsel. This was followed by the refugee drama Die Farbe des Ozeans (Colour of the Ocean) which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won the German Peace Film Prize. Der Passfälscher is her fourth feature film as a director.
