Virgil Widrich

Virgil Widrich, born 1967 in Salzburg, is one of the founders and managing directors of the multimedia company checkpointmedia, University Professor of Art & Science at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the owner as well as the managing director of Virgil Widrich Film- und Multimediaproduktions GmbH. His experimental short films won many international awards; thus “Copy Shop” (2001)  was nominated for the Oscar, and “Fast Film (2003), coproduced with Amour Fou Luxembourg, was shown in competition at the Cannes festival. "Night of a 1000 Hours" is his first feature film since 2000.
