Born in Luxembourg, Désirée NOSBUSCH began her career at the age of twelve as a presenter on Radio Luxembourg.

In 1981, she began four years of acting studies at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York. The same year, she picked up her first film role in Nach Mitternacht.  Other films followed, including Good Morning Babylon (1987) by the Taviani brothers and La Femme fardée (1990) by José Pinheiro. But her talent is not limited to the big screen. Her stage appearances have included the title role in The Taming of the Shrew (2006) at the Ruhrfestspiele festival and the role of Abby Prescott in Mercy Seat (2012), directed by Herbert Knaup.

In the meantime, she took a course in film directing and production at the University of California. The short film Ice Cream Sundae (2003), which she wrote and directed, won her the Gold Award for Best Director – Short Film at WorldFest Houston and the Gold Award for Best Short Drama at the Fargo Film Festival.

In 2010, Désirée NOSBUSCH founded Deal Productions and directed the documentary Succès Fox (screened in the Luxembourg City Film Festival 2014), which traces the evolution of theatre in Luxembourg over the years through the life and work of actor Fernand Fox.
