Following her studies, Johanna Caraire spent a short while working for an audiovisual production company in Paris. Back in Bordeaux, she joined the short film association, Kino Session, and then founded Semer le doute with Pauline Reiffers. They co-founded the International Independent Film Festival of Bordeaux (Fifib) in 2012, which they have co-directed for the past seven years. Johanna is festival’s main artistic director.  Since 2019, she has worked with Edouard Waintrop and Natacha Seweryn to direct the festival's programming.
