Leonor Silveira was born in Lisbon, Portugal. With a degree in International Relations, she joined the Office of the Minister of Culture in 1998. In 2000 she joined the staff of the Institute of Cinema, Audiovisual and Multimedia (ICAM), as coordinator of the department of Promotion and Diffusion of national cinematography in Portugal and abroad. Besides this career, Leonor Silveira featured as an actress in nineteen of Manoel de Oliveira’s films, her most famous role being the one of Ema in Val Abraham in 1993. She also worked on three projects of João Botelho’s and with many other prestigious directors.
