
Miles Joris-Peyrafitte is an American director born in Albany, New York, as the son Luxembourgish-American poet Pierre Joris. In addition to his more recent feature film work, he works as producer and directs commercials and documentary films. His 2017 award-winning documentary short Brujas follows young female skateboarders breaking down societal norms in New York City. At 23, he is one of the youngest filmmakers ever to be in competition at the Sundance Film Festival with his first feature film, As You Are (2016). He directed, co-wrote, co-scored and acted in the film, which won the US Dramatic Special Jury Award. Dreamland (2019) is his second feature film.
