Niels VAN KOEVORDEN (1984) is Dutch but spend his childhood in Belgium.

At the age of 17 he returned to the Netherlands to study at the Bernhard Lievegoed College of Liberal Arts. Here he discovered film, which took him to the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam. There he graduated (in 2010) as a documentary film director with his film Lukomir - Six Months Off. It was rewarded with the VPRO documentary award for best graduation documentary. His second short documentary By Her Side won several awards among which the jury award at the Full Frame documentary festival (USA). Niels also works as a cinematographer, for his own films as well as for other directors. His last film Ne me quitte pas (with co-director Sabine Lubbe Bakker) was nominated for the Dutch and international feature-length competition at IDFA, won best documentary at Luxembourg City Film Festival and a special mention at Zagreb Dox. The film is also selected in competition for Tribeca Film festival, Hotdocs and Sydney Film Festival.
