Saïd TAGHMAOUI

Actor Saïd TAGHMAOUI was born in 1973 in Seine-Saint-Denis, France into a large family of ten children. Of Moroccan descent, he dropped out of school the age of 17 and got involved in boxing in France.

At a time in his life, he was ranked number 2 in his category. He briefly joined a French gangsta-rap group known as Assassin, before he appeared in 1995 in the groundbreaking La Haine directed by Mathieu Kassovitz. The film earned him a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actor.
He has since pursued an international career, appearing in films such as Three Kings, as the Iraqui interrogator captain, The Kite Runner, Vantage Point, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra and American Hustle. Taghmaoui's television work includes Lost, the BBC miniseries House of Saddam and Touch. In 2010 he appeared in the award winning British film My Brother The Devil, which was released worldwide.
