After his studies in screenwriting at ECAM film school, he co-directed his first feature film 8 Dates at the age of 25. His self-produced film Stockholm premiered at the Malaga Film Festival and won several prestigious awards in Spain. His third feature, May God Save Us (Que Dios nos perdone) gained international recognition and was nominated for the Goya Awards. In 2017, his short film Madre competed at the Oscars, and his fourth feature The Realm (El reino) won seven Goya awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay. In 2022, his latest film The Beasts (As Bestas) triumphed once again at the Goyas. His most recent project is the series The New Years (Los a\u00f1os nuevos).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luxfilmfest.lu\/en\/guests\/alma-poysti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Alma P\u00f6ysti<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Alma P\u00f6ysti is an award-winning, critically acclaimed Finnish actress who is a powerhouse performer both on screen and on the stage, who continues to captivate audiences with her versatility and has established herself as one to watch. She is known for her work in Aki Kaurism\u00e4ki\u2019s romantic comedy-drama\u00a0Fallen Leaves\u00a0(2023), Pirjo Honkasalo\u2019s film\u00a0Orenda\u00a0(2025), Selma Vilhunen\u2019s film\u00a0Four Little Adults\u00a0(2023), Fares Fares\u2019 film\u00a0A Day and a Half\u00a0(2023), and Zaida Bergroth\u2019s film\u00a0Tove\u00a0(2020). P\u00f6ysti graduated from the Theatre Academy at the University of Helsinki and earned a Masters Degree in Arts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luxfilmfest.lu\/en\/guests\/emmanuelle-beart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emmanuelle B\u00e9art<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Discovered in 1986 by Claude Berri&#8217;s <em>Manon des Sources<\/em>, for which she won a C\u00e9sar Award, Emmanuelle B\u00e9art alternates between theatre and arthouse cinema with Andr\u00e9 T\u00e9chin\u00e9, Jacques Rivette, Claude Chabrol, Dani\u00e8le Thompson, Claude Sautet, Anne Fontaine and Fran\u00e7ois Ozon, she established herself as a major figure in French cinema before branching out internationally (<em>Mission: Impossible<\/em> by Brian de Palma). In 2023, she co-directed the documentary <em>Un silence si bruyant<\/em>. A committed activist, she has been a global ambassador for UNICEF for over twenty years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luxfilmfest.lu\/en\/guests\/lisandro-alonso\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Lisandro Alonso\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Lisandro Alonso is a major figure in Argentine cinema. He gained international acclaim with his debut feature, La Libertad, which premiered at Cannes in 2001. After founding his production company 4L, he returned to Cannes with Los Muertos and completed a trilogy with Fantasma. In 2008, he explored a more fictional approach with Liverpool. In 2014, his film Jauja, starring Viggo Mortensen, won the prestigious FIPRESCI award. He has recently finished filming La Libertad doble, a project that returns to the setting and characters of his very first film, 25 years later.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luxfilmfest.lu\/en\/guests\/peter-doherty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Peter Doherty\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>A charismatic member of The Libertines and Babyshambles, Peter Doherty embodies authentic rock, blending fragile poetry and romantic chaos. He began his solo career in 2009 with his album\u00a0Grace\/Wastelands, which was almost entirely acoustic and clearly revealed his folk and jazz influences. Several solo albums followed, as well as a collaboration with Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Lo on the album\u00a0The Fantasy Life of Poetry &amp; Crime.\u00a0In 2012, he made his film debut as Octave in Sylvie Verheyde\u2019s Confession d\u2019un enfant du si\u00e8cle, which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2024,\u00a0Stranger in My Own Skin,\u00a0a documentary directed by his partner Katia de Vidas, who filmed him in his daily life for several years, was released. He composed the soundtrack for Xavier Beauvois\u2019 film La Vall\u00e9e des fous.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luxfilmfest.lu\/en\/guests\/rae-lyn-lee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rae Lyn Lee<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Rae Lyn Lee is a Luxembourg-based filmmaker and cinematographer. Originally from Singapore, her cross-cultural perspective subtly shapes her storytelling. She co-wrote and shot \u201cBreathing Underwater (Hors d\u2019Haleine)\u201d, a film that received multiple local and international awards.
