Biografie

Born in 1986, Carla Simón studied at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, at the University of California and later at the London Film School. There, she wrote and directed several short films, selected for numerous international film festivals: Born Positive (2012), Lipstick (2013), Those Little Things (2014) and Llacunes (2016). Her first feature film, Summer 1993 (2017) won more than 30 awards around the world, including the Best First Film Award and the Generation Kplus Grand Prix at the Berlinale, as well as three Goya Awards. Alcarràs (2022), her second feature film, received the Golden Bear at the 72nd Berlinale.
