Biografie

After studying cinema in Nantes and writing a dissertation on Luc Moullet at Nanterre, Jumaï Laguna joined the Quinzaine en Actions team, the Quinzaine des Cinéastes’ cultural access programme. As she travelled around France presenting films, she understood the importance of making culture accessible to all.

She worked for a few years as a programmer at the Poitiers Film Festival and at Fipadoc for the Young Creation selection, where she discovered not only great people but also the inexhaustible wealth of films from schools all over the world.

Today, she is essentially a programmer for a festival dear to her heart, the Festival Premiers Plans d’Angers, devoted to first European works.
And because she’s always on the move, she wears a variety of hats and continues to work at the Quinzaine des Cinéastes, Séries Mania and sometimes even Hellfest. When she’s not on the move, she’s back in her flat in Saint-Nazaire, eating oysters and taking walks in the forest, far from all the hustle and bustle.
