La Mare (Dëmpel)

Barbara Brunner (born 1981) graduated from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts with a degree in animation in 2008. She has been working in the field ever since. In 2010 she co-founded the animation studio Brunner&Meyer. Her last short film Miles Away had a succesful festival career including DOK Leipzig, Chicago International Children‘s Film Festival, Cinekid Amsterdam, Fantoche Baden and many more.

Alois Di Leo is a director, producer, writer and animator born in Lima, Perú and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated with an MA in Animation Direction from the National Film and Television School in London before returning to Brazil to found the animation studio SINLOGO Animation. Alois Di Leo has worked in commercials, music videos and short films. His work has been showcased all around the globe.

Chantal Peten was born in Belgium in the mid-70s. She studied illustration and comics at the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts. She writes and illustrates children’s books and makes short animated films. Her work is published in Dutch at Clavis Uitgeverij and in French at Pastel’s and la joie de lire. She works regularly with the éditions Milan Presse.

Born in Switzerland in 1986, Eva Rust is a children’s book author and film-maker. She graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in scientific illustration, and has since worked as an illustrator in a variety of fields. Her work is still very much inspired by flora and fauna. When Eva Rust isn’t drawing herself, she teaches drawing to apprentice graphic designers. Sometimes she also works for animated films, or in textile design for outdoor and hiking clothing.

Marcus Vinicius Vasconcelos has written, directed and animated several short films, including Realejo (2012), Pintas (2013) and Quando os Dias Eram Eternos (2016), which have won numerous festival awards. In 2023, he developed the children’s series Lulina e a Lua (Lulina and the Moon) and worked as an animator on several projects, including the feature film O menino e o mundo (The Boy and the World) by Alê Abreu. He is also an illustrator and collaborated on the album Father Francisco by Marina Myazaki.

Lena von Döhren est née et a grandi à Berlin. Après un tour du monde de 2 ans, elle étudie la communication audiovisuelle à l’Académie Rietveld d’Amsterdam. Elle obtient un master en animation à l’Université des arts de Lucerne. Lena von Döhren travaille aujourd’hui comme réalisatrice, animatrice et illustratrice. Ses quatre épisodes de The little Bird ont remporté de nombreux prix en festival et on livre illustré pour enfants, Schau mal meine Freunde, est publié par NordSüd Verlag (CH / USA). Son dernier court-métrage d’animation, Pond, une collaboration avec l’illustratrice Eva Rust : Il s’agit d’un court métrage pour enfants qui raconte l’histoire d’un poisson coincé dans une mare. Le film a été présenté pour la première fois à la Berlinale de cette année et fait actuellement le tour des festivals du monde entier.
