Biografie
Born in 1975 in Buenos Aires, Lisandro Alonso is a major figure in Argentine cinema. He gained international acclaim with his debut feature, La Libertad, which premiered at Cannes in 2001. After founding his production company 4L, he returned to Cannes with Los Muertos and completed a trilogy with Fantasma. In 2008, he explored a more fictional approach with Liverpool. In 2014, his film Jauja, starring Viggo Mortensen, won the prestigious FIPRESCI award. He has recently finished filming La Libertad doble, a project that returns to the setting and characters of his very first film, 25 years later.
