Marine Atlan

Marine Atlan is a French cinematographer, film director, and screenwriter.

After earning a technical degree in audiovisual studies at the Lycée Jacques Prévert in Boulogne-Billancourt and spending a year at university, she entered the Cinematography (Image) department at La Fémis, graduating in 2015. In March 2016, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival for her debut short film, Les Amours vertes, co-written with Anne Brouillet.

Her feature directorial debut, La Gradiva, follows a class of teenagers on a school trip to Pompeii. Selected in official competition for the Critics’ Week (Semaine de la Critique) section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, the film earned acclaim for its staging and multi-layered narrative, ultimately winning the Critics’ Week Grand Prix.
