Born in Braunschweing in 1983, Nora Fingscheidt spent her childhood between Germany and Argentina. From 2003, she supported the development of filmArche, a self-managed film school in Berlin. At the same time, she was took acting direction lessons from Sigrid Andersson. Between 2008 and 2017, Nora studied directing at the Film Academy Baden-Wurttemberg. Her graduation film, the documentary Without This World (2017), won the Max Ophüls Prize and the First Steps Award. In 2019, Benni, her first feature film, brought her to the attention of the general public.
