Biografie

Pascal Le Pennec studied at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where he obtained the Superior Diplomas in harmony, counterpoint, orchestration, classical accordion and chamber music.

Pascal then set up two classical-accordion duets: one with Guy Ferla, with whom he was winner of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and the Cziffra Foundation, and one with Philippe Borecek.

In November 2012, Pascal won the SACEM Prize for Best Original Movie Score at the International Film Festival in Tübingen/Stuttgart (Germany) for the soundtrack of Le Tableau (The Painting), an animation feature film by Jean-François Laguionie, and in 2013, the CNC Prize (Centre National du Cinéma) for the music of Les Souvenirs, an animation short film by Renaud Martin. He was twice nominated for the Prix France Musique – Sacem de la musique de film: in 2017 for his work in Louise en hiver (Louise by the shore), an animation feature film by Jean-François Laguionie, and in 2022 for his work in The black Pharaoh, the savage and the princess, an animation feature film by Michel Ocelot.

He has worked on “Slocum et moi” latest feature film of Jean-François Laguionie.
